At Corry Dental Care we often need to or are asked to reshape the front teeth to improve aesthetics or function. This is often the case following a course of orthodontics or as part of a rehabilitation to solve TMJ dysfunction or just simply to improve the aesthetics of the front teeth.
Often this can be achieved by adding a small amount of composite resin ( white filling material) to create the desired shape for the smile makeover or indeed by removing small amounts of enamel to shorten or reshape the teeth giving an immediate aesthetic effect.
Are these safe?
Yes, these are completely safe procedures and usually require no local anaesthetic (injections) at all. Composite bonding and tooth recontouring are perfect examples of minimally invasive dentistry.
